So now that i’m living with my father, and don’t have a shop shared with Sam, I’ve noticed that I don’t have ANY basic tools! Sure I got the welder, chop saw, angle grinder, etc…But I don’t own any screw drivers, sockets, wrenches and anything else that I use daily.
So I went out and fixed that.
It’s awesome! A Kobalt 11 drawer set up LOADED with every basic tool I could ever need.
Now I just need the space and bikes to work on…ha..ha
So it has officially happened, I’m out of the Farmington house, which means no more shop…Very sad for me. I’m living out of boxes at my dad’s until I find a new place. Probably won’t do much with motorcycles until then either…Maybe I’ll ride out to California. I don’t know.
GOOD BYE Farmington house! I’ll never forget you, or the memories…
Well since I haven’t had much I’ve been able to do in the way of motorcycles, my dad decided to recruit me as his rental house assistant monkey for the day. This consisted of us cutting down a massive tree that fell right by the house. With that back story here are some funny videos and pictures of the incident…Those who know my father will find it all-the-more-funny.
So this is the beginning… Good start!
one minute later.
A little later we got the bright idea to use the pickup to pull the tree apart. Worked pretty well actually.
Then we put it ALL in the pickup, poor thing was dragging its ass all the way home…Well not literally.
On an unrelated note, while walking by one of his other rentals, I noticed that under a window sill, there was a hairy armpit! Upon closer inspection, I found THIS:
I mean, there should be a law against this many Daddy Long Legs in such a small area…
I was just informed last night that I have to be moved out by July 1st! My land lord’s daughter is coming back to town and moving in therefore I am getting kicked out. So the next while may be a little crazy for me. I’ll be sure to find a place with a nice shop space so that I can keep doing my work and I better find it quick!
I still hope to have at least the CB750 completed before the move. But we’ll see.
Silver lining: Now I can get a dog!
Finally got a useful vehicle. My vehicle history consists of a whole bunch of useless 2 seaters and non-motorcycle-holding rides:
93 Honda civic
95 Mazda miata
89 VW rabbit
92 Toyota MR2 (used a trailer with this to get motorcycles…)
89 Honda accord (trailer with this too)
90 Mazda miata
91 Honda prelude
I was kinda wanting a miata again but then something clicked and I realized if I play my cards right, I could spend the same amount of money on a truck that gets the same 26 mpg! So that’s exactly what I did.
It’s a flatbed! I love it, a 93 toyota 22re pickup with a flat bed conversion so I can fit 3+ motorcycles on it. SO PRODUCTIVE! In the first two days with my new truck I had already bought two new bikes. an old xs650 (I now have 2 in the shop) and an XT200 (which i think I’m about to sell because I really didn’t need it…I have a problem!)
