So I have all these wires I’m trying to hide, I want this bike to be as clean as possible and the bikes I’ve seen like this one have NO visible wires! So I started thinking…
first, place battery (new gel CBR600 battery). This is where it is going, I’ll make a bracket for it soon. Wondering why I welded those pieces of grid metal to the frame? Now you know! to hide the battery…and it looks kinda badass.
Next I had to figure out where the hell my pulse generator and starter wires were going to go. I didn’t like the stock path on top of the motor and scaling the frame in broad daylight…
So I found an alternate route behind the front sprocket cover and down underneath the bike, coming up the back of the motor right in front of the swing-arm. Of course in order to do this I had to stretch the wires quite a bit.
SOLDER AND HEAT SHRINK are the only way to go! I will say this till I’m blue in the face.
Who’s idea was it to put a brown recluse on my knee and tickle me until I swatted it to the floor…only to realize it’s a…BROWN FREAKING RECLUSE! Try to get this picture as big as possible, click on it, zoom in, whatever. If you look close you can see the little violin on his back…bastard.
So now that I’ve beaten the spider, and finished the soldering…see any wires? GOOD! you shouldn’t! (hint: note zip-ties on each side of kick stand…)
Here is the hidden goods. There is a total of 10 wires there, nice and compact. That’s the majority of the bike’s wires right there! stator, starter, and pulse generator all come up there together now
That’s it for tonight It’s 2:30am and I still need to shower! But stay tuned because tomorrow I plan on making my battery bracket and getting the wiring at least mostly complete. Good night.
